ConAgra Foods spent US$100,000 in Q2 lobbying U.S. government on issues such as agriculture programs, ethanol regulations, immigration laws, disclosure report reveals

WASHINGTON , August 29, 2011 (Associated Press) – ConAgra Foods Inc. spent $100,000 in the second quarter on lobbying government officials on agriculture programs, ethanol regulations, immigration laws and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.

The food maker, based in Omaha, Neb., lobbied on labor, agriculture, food safety and other business issues in April through June.

ConAgra spent the same amount in the first quart and in the second quarter last year.

Besides Congress, the company lobbied the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Agriculture and the Office of Management and Budget, according to the report it filed July 19 with the House clerk's office.
