LONDON , March 18, 2014 (press release) – The height of South America’s summer has seen an increased interest in Rexam's 24oz 'giant can' and the energy drink segment.

Rexam, the leading beverage can maker in South America, has recently worked with Dado Bier to market their specialty beer in its 24oz can. Also known as the ‘giant can’, it is the biggest size available in the country to date. Dado Bier is currently sold in São Paulo and Rio de Janiero.

Also taking advantage of the South American summer season is INAB (Industria Nacional de Bebidas). INAB have recently launched their Colônia Pilsen beer in the ‘giant can’. Adding to the consumer experience, the can also showcases Rexam’s thermochromic ink in the design of a temperature metre – informing the consumer when the drink is the ideal temperature for consumption by changing colour. Colônia Pilsen is currently sold in São Paulo and Paraná.

Rexam also produced an innovative can for Edge energy drink. The 9oz Sleek can uses Rexam’s tactile finish, a varnish that is coated on the can to create a texture which is sensitive to the touch. Edge energy is currently sold in markets of Curitiba and will soon be available in other Brazilian states.
