Voith Paper in full service contract with Papierfabrik Hamburger Spremberg in Germany
SPREMBERG, Germany , January 20, 2006 (press release) – In April 2005, Voith Paper Automation and Papierfabrik Hamburger Spremberg GmbH & Co. KG signed a full-service agreement in the field of automation. On this basis, Voith Paper Automation will provide comprehensive service for the ongoing basic service as well as preventive maintenance of the quality control system. PM 1, which went on stream at the end of 2004 with the Voith quality control system, will be supported round the clock within the framework of full service, which also includes fast emergency assistance and remote diagnostics. This ensures an always high availability of the system for the customer. The service covers the complete quality control system, which includes the Voith OnQ measuring and control system as well as the actuators on the paper machine, which were supplied by Voith.
With the new service support center at the paper mill in Spremberg, Voith specialists of the Automation Team provide fast assistance on site. The possibility of access by "remote diagnostics" means that additional assistance can be provided by all Voith automation experts on special subjects. Training programs for the technical operating and maintenance personnel complete the scope of service. In this way, Hamburger Spremberg GmbH & Co. KG secures the long-term, high availability of its automation system.
Papierfabrik Hamburger Spremberg, a company of the Austrian W. Hamburger AG, Pitten Group, began setting up its "greenfield" paper mill for white and brown corrugated board base paper at the Schwarze Pumpe/Spremberg location in November 2003 and put it into successful operation. At Lausitz/Brandenburg, W. Hamburger AG is specialized in the production of high-quality corrugated board base papers and packaging papers.
The mill is designed for an annual production of 40,000 tons.
