Mondelez International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDLZ) announced today the nomination of Ratan N. Tata to its Board of Directors. Tata, 75, is Chairman of the Tata Trusts, which are among the largest private sector philanthropic trusts in India.

Prior to his current role, Tata served as Chairman of Tata Sons Limited, the holding company of the Tata Group, from 1991 until 2012. He was also Chairman of the major Tata Group companies, including Tata Motors, Tata Steel , Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Global Beverages and several other Tata companies until 2012. Tata joined the Tata Group in 1962. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1962 and completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program in 1975.
All incumbent members of the Board will stand for re-election.
Shareholders will elect 11 directors for one-year terms at the company's Annual Meeting, which will take place at 9 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Ill. Shareholders of record at the close of business on March 15, 2013, are entitled to attend and vote on all matters that properly come before the meeting.
