SABMiller investing US$300M in Peru to meet increasing beer demand in the country

LOS ANGELES , May 22, 2012 () – SABMiller is investing US$300 million in Peru to meet increasing beer demand in the country, Bloomberg reported May 18.

Union de Cervecerias Peruanas Backus y Johnston SAA, which was acquired by SABMiller in 2005, is upgrading its five Peruvian brew houses and replacing 600 distribution trucks with natural gas-fueled vehicles to cut costs.

The expansion is expected to be completed next year.
