RICHMOND, Virginia , November 30, 2011 () – Renewable energy activists are taking their campaign to Virginia's largest electric utility.

A "Rally for Renewables" is scheduled for Wednesday in front of Dominion Virginia Power's headquarters in Richmond. The activists and "clean energy" business owners are urging Dominion to phase out coal-fired plants and invest more in renewable energy, including solar and wind, and to increase its message of energy efficiency.

Rally participants say they'll also march to the State Corporation Commission several blocks away and deliver more than 2,500 public comments in support of their message.

The comments are on a 300-foot-long banner.

State regulators are reviewing Dominion's long-term energy plan.
