Barratt named U.K.'s Housebuilder of the Year at annual Housebuilder Awards in London

BARRATT Developments PLC has been officially named Housebuilder of the Year at the industry’s most prestigious annual awards.
The company also won three individual award categories including Best Regeneration (Bluebell in Nuneaton), Best Landscaping (Vizion In Milton Keynes) and Best Community Initiative (Pickering Community Park in Yorkshire). Welcoming the news, Mark Clare, Chief Executive of Barratt Developments PLC, said: “We have placed higher quality, better design and engaging even more closely with local communities at the heart of our business.” “I am delighted for our employees that their outstanding efforts in all of these areas have been given the recognition they deserve.” “With the launch of a new Barratt range this Autumn which lifts the bar even higher in terms of quality and design, I am confident that the next 12 months will see further progress.” Barratt is the only national housebuilder which has won an official five star rating from the HBF two years in a row. This means that more than 90 per cent of customers say they are satisfied with the quality of their new home and would recommend the builder to a friend. Barratt is also the only housebuilder which guarantees all the internal fixtures and fittings in a home for five years. This is three years longer than the majority of its competitors.
Barratt won the main prize at last night’s Housebuilder Awards 2011, which were organised by The Housebuilder magazine in conjunction with the official industry body the HomeBuilders Federation (HBF).
