The highest increases were observed in Hungary (+10.2%), Germany (+2.7%) and Sweden (+2.4%). Annual comparison by construction sector and by Member State In the EU, production in construction Among Member States for which data are available, the highest annual increases in production in construction were recorded in Hungary (+17.1%), Spain (+15.1%) and Portugal (+3.9%). The largest decreases were observed in the Netherlands (-15.7%), Romania (-14.7%) and Slovakia (-12.8%). In January 2024, compared with December 2023, seasonally adjusted production in construction increased by 0.5% in the euro area and decreased by 1.0% in the EU, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In December 2023, production in construction grew by 0.5% in the euro area and by 1.3% in the EU.
