“Skincare Breakast” promises a perfect complexion

Self-care influencers on TikTok are touting the “skincare breakfast,” a morning feeding routine that many say guarantees a perfect complexion.

Content creator Alice Sun – who routinely shares skin-friendly tips with her audience of more than 340,000 followers – recently announced that she had perfected the skincare breakfast, which consists of salmon, kimchi, rice, miso broth and cucumbers.

Isabelle Lux, who has more than 514,000 followers, said her “glowing skin breakfast” iscomprised of (or includes) coconut-based yogurt, pumpkin and chia seeds, berries and probiotics.

Let them eat cake! (for breakfast)

Cake for breakfast? TikTok influencer Condiment Claire says “yes” with Gateâu au yaourt, otherwise known as French Yogurt Cake.

The recipe, which was named one of the most viral recipes of 2023 by Buzzfeed, uses ratios to measure everything out with whatever yogurt pot someone has on hand. And forget about fancy preparation. Everything gets dumped in one bowl and mixed together for what many call a “super moist snacking cake” that's as perfect for breakfast as it is for dessert.

Eating time matters when it comes to your health, new research finds contends

New scientific research published in the journal Nutrients suggests that what time you eat matters when it comes to your health.

Researchers analyzed several past studies focusing on intermittent fasting and healthy weight loss. They investigated whether there was a connection between intermittent fasting and health, and also compared the effects of different eating windows.

The researchers found that people who had an earlier eating window – eating breakfast before 11 a.m. and stopping eating earlier – lowered blood pressure while also leading to more weight loss.
