As part of our goal to set a bold example in ingredient transparency that leads to meaningful change, SC Johnson launched our ingredient transparency program in 2009 to give consumers as much information as possible about the products they buy. In 2015, we were first in the industry to disclose product-specific fragrance ingredients. We also led the way in advocating for product transparency at the federal and state levels, including strong support for strengthening the U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act and advocating for California’s Cleaning Product Right to Know Act, which was signed into law in 2017 and made California the first state to require ingredient disclosure on product labels and online for cleaning products.
