Representatives from major waste management organizations are selected to California's EPR program advisory board; organizations include Waste Connections, Resource Recovery Coalition of California, California Compost Coalition, StopWaste

LOS ANGELES , July 12, 2023 (press release) –

Representatives from major waste management companies and organizations have been selected to California's extended producer responsibility program advisory board.

The board will oversee the program, which mandates recycling for packaging and paper.

The representatives from waste management companies and groups include:

• Waste Connections' Director of Governmetn Affairs, Christy Pestoni
• Resource Recovery Coalition of California's Regulatory Affairs Director, Veronica Pardo
• California Compost Coalition's Executive Director, Neil Edgar
• Alameda County’s StopWaste's Executive Director, Timothy Burroughs 
• Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority's Director, Tedd Ward

The board will also include represenatives from packaging company stakeholders, such as General Mills and Talco Plastics.

The 16-member board will serve for a three-year term. Currently, the producer responsbility organization has not been named.
