In an op-ed published Aug. 2 in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett highlights how hospitals, especially those in rural areas, are facing significant financial challenges and how some proposals being considered by Congress would cut patient care by slashing billions of dollars in funding to hospitals. “If these bad ideas make it out of the Beltway and become law, even more hospitals would have to shrink their services or shut their doors … We can do better. I urge lawmakers to reject policies that would cut patient care and focus on real solutions that support our hospitals, our healthcare workers, and our residents’ access to care.”
