Texas Forestry Assn. elects Trevor Terry as president; Terry works for timber investment company, Resource Man­age­ment Ser­vice, as region man­ag­er for all of Texas, Okla­homa and Arkansas man­aged properties

Trevor Ter­ry of Nacog­doches, Texas, has been elect­ed Pres­i­dent of the Texas Forestry Asso­ci­a­tion (TFA). Ter­ry was rec­om­mend­ed by TFA’s Nom­i­nat­ing Com­mit­tee and approved by the Board of Direc­tors to fill the posi­tion dur­ing TFA’s Annu­al Con­ven­tion held Oct. 18 – 20, 2023 at The Fre­do­nia Hotel in Nacog­doches, Texas.

“Trevor Ter­ry is an excel­lent choice to lead the Texas Forestry Asso­ci­a­tion in the upcom­ing year,” said Rob Hugh­es, TFA’s Exec­u­tive Direc­tor. ​“With near­ly 30 years’ expe­ri­ence in for­est man­age­ment and har­vest­ing, he brings knowl­edge of sus­tain­able forestry, and he under­stands the impor­tance of every­one who nur­tures the forests and the mul­ti-bil­lion dol­lar indus­try that sup­ports not only East Texas, but the entire state,” Hugh­es added.

Ter­ry grad­u­at­ed from Stephen F. Austin State Uni­ver­si­ty in 1994 with a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in Forestry. He works for Resource Man­age­ment Ser­vice, LLC, a tim­ber invest­ment man­age­ment orga­ni­za­tion, as the Region Man­ag­er of the Red Riv­er Region that encom­pass­es all of Texas, Okla­homa, and Arkansas man­aged properties.

He start­ed his career in 1995 with Tem­ple-Inland in Sils­bee and then spent 15.5 years with Tem­ple end­ing up in Diboll as a Team Leader of Har­vest. Ter­ry tran­si­tioned with Tem­ple to Pro­cure­ment Leader after Tem­ple sold their for­est hold­ings. In 2009, he moved on to Han­cock For­est Man­age­ment in Nacog­doches as Har­vest Man­ag­er and then became Region Man­ag­er. Trevor joined Resource Man­age­ment Ser­vice in 2022.

“Texas Forestry Asso­ci­a­tion is the voice of forestry in Texas,” Hugh­es said, ​“This orga­ni­za­tion and the peo­ple who are mem­bers work con­tin­u­al­ly to pro­vide healthy, clean, and pro­duc­tive for­est ecosys­tems while pro­mot­ing bio­di­ver­si­ty and strong polit­i­cal and eco­nom­ic cli­mates. Trevor’s diverse expe­ri­ence will prove invalu­able to grow­ing our mem­ber­ship while increas­ing the reach of this organization.”
