Trevor Terry of Nacogdoches, Texas, has been elected President of the Texas Forestry Association (TFA). Terry was recommended by TFA’s Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Directors to fill the position during TFA’s Annual Convention held Oct. 18 – 20, 2023 at The Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches, Texas. “Trevor Terry is an excellent choice to lead the Texas Forestry Association in the upcoming year,” said Rob Hughes, TFA’s Executive Director. “With nearly 30 years’ experience in forest management and harvesting, he brings knowledge of sustainable forestry, and he understands the importance of everyone who nurtures the forests and the multi-billion dollar industry that supports not only East Texas, but the entire state,” Hughes added. Terry graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. He works for Resource Management Service, LLC, a timber investment management organization, as the Region Manager of the Red River Region that encompasses all of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas managed properties. He started his career in 1995 with Temple-Inland in Silsbee and then spent 15.5 years with Temple ending up in Diboll as a Team Leader of Harvest. Terry transitioned with Temple to Procurement Leader after Temple sold their forest holdings. In 2009, he moved on to Hancock Forest Management in Nacogdoches as Harvest Manager and then became Region Manager. Trevor joined Resource Management Service in 2022. “Texas Forestry Association is the voice of forestry in Texas,” Hughes said, “This organization and the people who are members work continually to provide healthy, clean, and productive forest ecosystems while promoting biodiversity and strong political and economic climates. Trevor’s diverse experience will prove invaluable to growing our membership while increasing the reach of this organization.”
