The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie McRae of McRae Lumber Company as the Chair of the Association, effective February 27th, 2024. Mr. McRae will continue to lead the OFIA in its mission to promote the sustainable growth and prosperity of Ontario's forest products sector. With his extensive experience in the industry and dedication to innovation and sustainability, McRae is poised to drive positive change and foster collaboration within the forest products sector. "I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Ontario Forest Industries Association," said Jamie McRae. "I look forward to working with industry stakeholders, government partners, and communities to advance our shared goals of sustainability, economic growth, and prosperity here in Ontario." McRae succeeds Dan Bowes of Columbia Forest Products, who served as Chair of the OFIA for the last two years. During his tenure, Mr. Bowes was essential in growing and diversifying the OFIA membership and ensuring the Association met the needs of the industry through challenging times. "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dan Bowes for his outstanding leadership and dedication during his tenure as Chair of the OFIA," said Ian Dunn, President & CEO of the OFIA. "His thoughtful guidance and unwavering commitment to the Association has been instrumental in advancing the interests of our industry." As the new Chair of the OFIA, Jamie McRae will build on the path of his predecessor and work collaboratively with industry partners to drive innovation, promote sustainable forestry practices, and advocate for the continued growth and prosperity of Ontario's forest products sector.

For 81 years, the OFIA has represented forestry companies ranging from multinational corporations to family-owned businesses across Ontario. OFIA's member companies produce various renewable forest products, including dimensional lumber, pulp and paper, packaging, clean energy, and engineered wood products. OFIA members invest heavily in advanced research, development, and innovative technologies, supporting a transition towards net-zero. Today, Ontario's forest industry generates over $20 billion in revenue and supports 142,000 direct and indirect jobs in communities across the province. To learn more about OFIA, visit www.ofia.com.
