Original Press Release:

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , Dec. 1 -- Aramark issued the following news release:

Aramark , the largest U.S. based food and facilities services provider, today announced it was named to Newsweek’s inaugural list of “America’s Greenest Companies.”

The first ranking of America's Greenest Companies (published in partnership with market data research firm Plant-A Insights and GIST Impact, a leading impact data and analytics provider) identified the top 300 companies in the U.S. based on environmental sustainability. The companies were evaluated and scored on more than 25 parameters based on the following 4 categories: greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water usage, waste generation, and sustainability data disclosure and commitments.

"We are proud of this recognition as a validation of the work we are doing every day - in partnership with our clients and customers - to deliver sustainable and responsible food and facilities services," said Alan Horowitz , VP of Sustainability at Aramark . “There is still so much to do, but we remain focused on making progress against our commitments each day.”

Be Well. Do Well., Aramark’s ESG platform, sums up the company’s dedication to reduce inequity, support and grow communities, promote diversity, and protect the planet. Aramark’s strategy for sustainability encompasses ambitious plans to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, a commitment to report transparently on progress, and a resolve to work together with clients, consumers, and suppliers to implement and innovate initiatives and programs to drive progress and results.

Aramark continues to make progress and receive recognition for its sustainability commitments. Earlier this year, Aramark announced it secured Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)-validated global GHG reduction targets, including near-term targets to significantly reduce emissions in direct operations and supply chain, and a commitment to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the enterprise by 2050. The company was also named the Greenest Food Contractor in North America , at the 2023 Green Restaurant Association Awards, in April. The prestigious Green Restaurant Awards commend the restaurants and organizations in the restaurant industry which have accomplished a high level of environmental achievement in their respective categories.

Next month, Aramark will report on its global environmental, social, and corporate governance programs and performance in its 2023 Be Well. Do Well. Progress Report. The 2023 Be Well. Do Well. Progress Report will be found on Aramark’s website.
