Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, announces that Ross Organic, an Azelis company, has won the prestigious C&T Allē Award in the Finished Formula Indie – Bath & Shower category. Developed at the Personal Care lab in Sante Fe Springs by formulating chemist Renee Tam, the winning product entry is the “Exfoliating Coconut Jelly Cube;” a bouncy all-over personal care bath product made with renewable raw materials created to glide over the skin and gently exfoliate while cleansing. The “Exfoliating Coconut Jelly Cube” transcends traditional personal bath and shower products taking inspiration from edible beauty. This product’s fresh perspective elevates the traditional cleanser formulation with synergistic ingredients to transform the cube’s texture. The “Exfoliating Coconut Jelly Cube” delivers gentle all-over body exfoliation, mild cleansing, and superior foaming. The product is made with 100 percent natural upcycled ISO 16128 certified exfoliant particles. More than 50 percent of the formulation’s ingredients are biodegradable. Todd Cottrell, CEO of Americas, Azelis, comments: “Congratulations to the Ross Organic lab team! Their success is indicative of how Azelis combines ingredient expertise and formulation know-how to develop captivating concepts that mirror market trends. In our role as a provider of innovation to the personal care industry, we actively support the efficient development of new sustainable products. Across Azelis our teams translate ideas into ready-to-launch concepts and are dedicated to staying ahead of the curve, pushing the boundaries of what's possible, and continually supporting our customers in their business development journey.” Jesse Kreider, Managing Director of Personal Care and Home Care & Industrial Cleaning, US, adds: “It is extremely gratifying for the team at Ross to receive industry-wide recognition as a recipient of the C&T Allē award in the Finished Formula Indie – Bath & Shower category. Their efforts on behalf of customers and principals in personal care formulation don’t receive the attention they often deserve. In creating the “Exfoliating Coconut Jelly Cube”, the Ross team aimed to make not only a memorable experience by incorporating fun and joy into everyday routines, but also a formulation that addresses sustainability concerns such as reusable packaging and solid formats.” Organized by Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine and Allured Business Media, C&T’s parent company, the C&T Allē Awards shine a spotlight on the research and development ingenuity of service providers and manufacturers in the cosmetics and personal care industry. The awards provide an opportunity to highlight leading innovations ranging from cosmetic ingredients, blends and product formulas to digital technologies, devices, and test methods. Winners are determined by an elite panel of judges with deep, independent knowledge of the personal care industry. Winners were announced at the Beauty Accelerate 2024 Awards dinner held in Los Angeles, California at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel.
