Around 12 small dogs are currently enrolled in the scheme accompanying their owners to the office areas of the site.

Nestlé has worked with GXO to set policy guidelines, from the Purina Pets At Work (PAW) scheme, to ensure the safety of all dogs and the protection of all staff. In addition, further safety measures were put in place, including seeking the approvals of landlords.

Jon Eves , Nestlé Warehouse Manager at EMG, said: “We hope more dogs will be signed up to the scheme and dogs from across the Nestlé PAW scheme can also visit the offices here. We are also working on plans to create a specific outdoor area, similar to those seen at our sites at York and Gatwick .

Research from the University of Lincoln shows that employees who take their dog to work often, report 22% higher satisfaction with their working conditions.

“By introducing PAW to our EMG site, we hope to improve the wider wellbeing of our staff and boost our working environment, for a happier workplace,” added Eves.
