ROME , June 8, 2022 (press release) –

The transaction, announced in March, was finally concluded following approval by the Antitrust Authorities.
Angelini Industries acquires 100% of Fameccanica, an international company specializing in automation and robotics for the consumer goods industry, which until now has been an equal joint venture between Angelini Industries and P&G.

The acquisition by Angelini Industries - an Italian multibusiness industrial group operating in 26 countries with 5,700 employees - of 50% of Fameccanica has been finalized with the signing of the closing, following approval by the Antitrust Authorities of Romania, Bulgaria, and Italy. From 1992 until today, Fameccanica has been an equal joint venture between Angelini Industries and the US multinational P&G.

Thanks to the agreement, announced last March, Angelini Industries owns 100% of Fameccanica, an international group specializing in Factory Automation. The company is a leader in the disposable hygiene products sector, with around 700 employees, 3 operating sites in Italy, China and North America, and revenues in excess of €200 million.

The transaction represents the first step towards the creation within Angelini Industries of an ecosystem of companies dedicated to the design and development of technologies, products, and services aimed at improving production and industrial processes.

Fameccanica will continue to be led by Alessandro Bulfon.

In 2021, it was the most innovative Italian company according to the EPO (European Patent Office) report, with 85 patent applications made.

Today, Fameccanica designs and develops products, solutions, and services to improve automation and production processes for a wide range of products, such as: disposable absorbent products for personal hygiene, personal and home care products, pods and single-dose detergents, disposable first aid devices and products (i.e. plasters), liquid bottling, sustainable packaging, and robotics for automated package handling and recognition (e-commerce logistics).
