American Cleaning Institute survey finds 89% of participants in 2023 who use liquid laundry packets rank easily accessible storage as most important aspect in storing products, 83% say safety; 63% never keep packets where a child could see or reach them

Of all participants in 2023 who use liquid laundry packets

83% say that storage that is safe is the most important aspect when storing cleaning products.
89% say that storage that is easily accessible is the most important aspect when storing cleaning products.
88% say that storage that fits everything you need is the most important aspect when storing cleaning products.
40% say that storage that looks nice is the most important aspect when storing cleaning products.

Q. Have you ever, even once, kept liquid laundry packets in a place where a child could see or reach them?
Of all participants in 2023 who use liquid laundry packets

16% say they have kept liquid laundry packets in a place where a child could see or reach them once.
21% say they have kept liquid laundry packets in a place where a child could see or reach them several times.

About the Survey

The American Cleaning Institute Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research (www.wakefieldresearch.com) among 1,000 nationally representative US adults ages 18+, between February 17th and February 23rd, 2023, using an email invitation and an online survey. Data has been weighted to ensure an accurate representation of US adults ages 18+.

Results of any sample are subject to sampling variation. The magnitude of the variation is measurable and is affected by the number of interviews and the level of the percentages expressing the results. For the interviews conducted in this particular study, the chances are 95 in 100 that a survey result does not vary, plus or minus, by more than 3.1 percentage points from the result that would be obtained if interviews had been conducted with all persons in the universe represented by the sample.
