January 17, 2024 (press release) –

Aldi, the UK’s lowest-priced supermarket[*] is cutting the price of more than 40 of its most commonly-bought items.

From tomorrow, the latest products will include popular weekly shop items such as coffee, tinned soups, and pet food – with prices lowered by up to 17%, to ensure its customers can buy the highest-quality products at the lowest possible prices.

Example price cuts include:

* The Fishmonger Tuna Chunks in Spring water – now 59p

* Bramwells Premium Baked Beans – now 42p

* Bramwells Spaghetti Loops 400g – now 39p

* Bramwells Tomato Soup 400g – now 62p

* Fiesta Fajita Kit 500g – now £1.79

* Cucina Pasta Sauce – now 75p

* Earls Dog Chew Bones – now 75p

* Alcafe Instant Coffee Freeze Dried – now £2.35

It comes just days after consumer group Which? named Aldi the Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2023, after conducting its annual price comparison of UK supermarkets.

Aldi was also named the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket of the Month for December, meaning it was the cheapest supermarket for 11 months of 2023 and offered its customers the lowest prices for a typical Christmas shop, when Which? found Aldi to be 23% cheaper than the average Big Four supermarket and a whopping £20 cheaper than the most expensive grocer, Waitrose.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “We’re starting 2024 as we ended 2023 – by being the UK’s lowest-priced supermarket, ensuring our customers can enjoy our great-quality products at the lowest-possible prices.

“At a time when budgets are squeezed post-Christmas, this latest round of price cuts will help our shoppers make significant savings on their weekly food shop, with amazing prices to be had on a wide range of items.”
