HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colorado , July 10, 2023 (press release) –

Kodiak Building Partners is pleased to announce a charitable contribution in the amount of $20,000 to Tunnel to Towers through the Patriot Project to help with long-term support and mortgage-free homes for fallen first responder families with young children.

In an open letter to the LBM industry, Steve Swinney, CEO of Kodiak Building Partners and Chairman of Kodiak’s Foundation, announced Kodiak’s Patriot Project, an initiative focused on promoting patriotism, giving back to first responders, and honoring the late Silvio Ferrari of Kodiak’s Freedom Materials. The Patriot Project provided flags to independent building product distributors who wanted to display their patriotism at their locations. Kodiak provided new 4×6’ American flags to the first 1,000 independent distributors who donated at least $50 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

“As part of our responsibility to be good corporate citizens, Kodiak Building Partners is proud to partner with Tunnel to Towers on long-term support for the families of the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom and country,” said Steve Swinney. “Kodiak is committed to making a lasting impact in the communities where our operators, employees, vendor partners, and customers call home.”

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in tribute to New York Fire Department firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on September 11, 2001, during the September 11 attacks. Since 9/11, Tunnels to Towers have been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. They are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America Never Forget September 11, 2001.

“The impact of Kodiak’s $20,000 donation to Tunnel to Towers goes far beyond monetary value. It paves the way towards healing and rebuilding lives devastated by sacrifice. Through mortgage-free homes and specially adapted smart homes, we can transform tragedy into triumph, offering comfort, independence, and a fresh start to catastrophically injured veterans, first responders, and their families,” said Andrew McClure, Senior Manager of Development for Tunnel to Towers. “With unwavering dedication, Tunnel to Towers also stands as a relentless force in eradicating veteran homelessness, ensuring that those who served our nation find stability and security. With the support of Kodiak Building Partners, we join hands in shaping a brighter future and repaying the debt we owe to those who selflessly protect and serve our country.”

Kodiak has also recently pledged its support to charitable organizations focused on helping families, children, and veterans through its 2023 golf tournament held in September 2023.

“So much of the giving that happens in this country is influenced locally by the communities in which people work and live,” said Jeff Jones, President of the Kodiak Building Partners Foundation. “By looking at the funds we raised for Tunnel to Towers through the Patriot Project and taking into account the multiple local organizations that will benefit from our Golf Tournament later this year, we can help jump-start conversations about giving priorities and making an impact in our local communities.”
