The sale of the HS Timber Productions Sebes SRL site to the German Ziegler Group, announced on 18 April, has been approved by the relevant authorities. With the closing of the transaction today, the sale of shares has been successfully completed. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The Ziegler Group will also take over the existing experienced team in Sebes. The sawmill in Sebes was the first production site of the HS Timber Group in Romania. "We would like to express our gratitude for the outstanding performance of the employees in Sebes over the last 20 years," says Gerald Schweighofer, CEO of HS Timber Group. "We are glad to have found a successful family business that will continue the sawn timber production at the site and expand the business." With this step, HS Timber Group consolidates its continued existence in Romania in the long term and can subsequently make better and more efficient use of the capacities of its existing plants. HS Timber Group still operates a sawmill and a blockboard plant as well as a post & beams production at other locations in Romania. Other sawmill sites are located in Germany and Finland. With further sites under construction, the group is successfully continuing its global expansion. Stefan Ziegler, owner and CEO of the Ziegler Group, is enthusiastic about the new member of the group of companies and the entrepreneur behind it: "The sawmill in Sebes was the starting point for the success of the HS Timber Group, which Mr. Schweighofer built up with a lot of entrepreneurship and vision! The location in the centre of Romania is an ideal addition to the Ziegler Group's sawmill division with its existing production facilities in Germany and Sweden. In addition to high-quality raw materials, the sawmill operation, which will operate under the name ZG Timber Sebes SRL in the future, offers optimal conditions for the group's purchasing and sales activities, especially due to its central location. Stefan Ziegler is looking forward to the operational start with the more than 650 new employees at the new location: "I am already looking forward to working with the Romanian employees, whose pride and joy is the local wood and with whom I would like to share my enthusiasm for the raw material!" With the Ziegler Group as the owner, the location is to be further strengthened. The strong roots in the domestic markets that have always existed are to play a central role in further development.
