Volvo Car USA reports sales of 6,219 cars in February, with Recharge EV, PHEV vehicle sales up 62% from last year despite supply constraints; Recharge models account for 27% of national sales, 66.5% of sales in California

• Volvo Recharge (EV and PHEV) models up 62 percent over February 2021
• Recharge models represented 27 percent of total February sales nationwide
• Volvo Car USA reported overall sales of 6,219 cars in February 2022
• Volvo Car Americas reported overall sales of 7,828 cars in February 2022

Volvo Car USA reported 6,219 cars sold in February 2022 despite continued supply constraints. Demand for Volvo cars remained strong and the brand’s Recharge models closed out the month up 62 percent over the same period last year.

Sales of the company’s Recharge models – cars with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain – represented 27 percent of total sales nationwide. In California, Recharge models accounted for a record 66.5 percent of total sales in the state, 3 percent more than January 2022.

Overall, the Volvo Car Americas region reported 7,828 cars sold for the month. Volvo Car Canada saw a year-over-year sales increase of 4.1 percent. A total of 2,308 Recharge models were sold in the Americas region and represented 29.5 percent of total volume.
