Mriya Aid, a network dedicated to helping Ukrainians, requested a donation of diaper and tissue products for a hospital in Lviv, Ukraine. Essentials like toiletries and personal care items are in low supply and difficult to access for medical professionals on the frontline. Kory MacAusland, a member of the RST Emergency Response Services Team in our Transportation & Logistics Division, worked with employees at Irving Personal Care and Irving Tissue to organize a large-scale donation of over 300 cases of diaper and tissue products. Midland agreed to supply Kory with a truck to transport the cases to Halifax for temporary storage. The Canadian Armed Forces will deliver the donation for distribution. This is the second time our employees at RST have coordinated a donation to Ukraine. In March 2022, with the support of fire departments across Prince Edward Island, Kory sent two 40-foot containers full of supplies including toiletries, medical essentials, and food to the same hospital in Lviv. Employees at RST and Sunbury rallied behind the cause, donating enough supplies to fill one of the containers themselves. Irving Personal Care, Irving Tissue, Midland and the Transportation & Logistics Division at J.D. Irving are proud to support our Ukrainian employees and their families. If you’re able to donate, you can do so at: https://www.mriyaaid.org/.
