Sylvamo voluntarily completes its first disclosures on climate change, forests, water security with nonprofit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in 2022; initial scores create benchmark as Sylvamo works toward achieving its 2030 sustainability goals

Sylvamo voluntarily completed its first disclosures on climate change, forests and water security with the nonprofit Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in 2022 during its inaugural year as an independent, publicly traded company.

“Our initial scores create a benchmark as we work toward achieving our 2030 goals,” said James McDonald, chief sustainability officer. “Completing these disclosures during our first year of operations is a significant accomplishment demonstrating our commitment to producing paper in the most responsible and sustainable ways.”

CDP runs a global environmental disclosure system, supporting thousands of companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation.

“Disclosure is the first key step in addressing current and future environmental risks,” said Dexter Galvin, CDP Global Director, Corporations and Supply Chains. “Sylvamo has demonstrated its commitment to transparency around its environmental impacts and strategies for action by disclosing its environmental data through CDP. The world’s paper company is among more than 18,700 companies to offer disclosures in 2022.
