Bormioli Pharma announces the launch of EcoPositive, a brand new label gathering all the sustainable packaging solutions manufactured by the company, including recycled glass and plastics, bio-based, biodegradable or compostable plastic solutions. And advanced polymer products. The new mark will be presented at the leading industry fair Pharmapack Europe, to be held in Paris, France on 18th-19th May (booth A62). With more than 15 years of research into more responsible packaging solutions for the pharma industry, Bormioli Pharma has introduced to the market – as industrial products – 3 different ranges of low-impact packaging solutions, consistently with 3 different sustainability strategies. • Regenerate: glass and plastic packaging recycled from first-choice waste collection These approaches will be explained – through a data-driven method – by Roberto Valenti, Head of Materials Development, during the Learning Lab that will be held at Pharmapack on May 19th at 12.50. “We truly believe sustainability will be the next big thing for the pharmaceutical industry, and we are striving to manufacture pharma-grade quality products that are more responsible towards the environment” commented Andrea Lodetti, CEO of Bormioli Pharma. “This tangible commitment well reflects our company’s purpose to make health a positive practice, accessible to everyone and kind to the planet”. Sustainability is more and more a key goal for Bormioli Pharma, that has already pledged to use the 50% of sustainable raw materials in production by 2025, a goal to which the company is closer year after year – in 2021, this share amounted to 32% compared to 16% in 2020. The company will also publish its first Integrated Report based on ESG parameters by H1 2022. Innovative product concepts At Pharmapack Europe, Bormioli Pharma will present innovative product concepts, among which the packaging solution for oral solid drugs DriTube. The concept features enhanced performances in drug protection, thanks to Bormioli Pharma’s exclusive Driex ® technology, with a long-lasting, active layer able to minimize moisture, guaranteeing the drugs’ therapeutical efficiency over time. Moreover, the plastic container – manufactured in PE – prevents from external moisture inlet. A second important feature of DriTube is the design. Ergonomically shaped and easy-to-use, the container can be opened with one hand, while its pocket-size favors an on-the-go use of the product. Finally, DriTube is safe by design: supplied with the flip-top cap closed for the safeguard of the internal environment, it can be easily opened for the filling operation – enabling leaner and safer industrial processes. Once closed after filling, the tamper-evident system activates to prevent counterfeiting.
