It fills us all with tremendous sorrow and anguish to witness what is happening in Eastern Europe associated with the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

At Beiersdorf, care always comes first and goes hand in hand with our commitment to foster peaceful togetherness across borders.

First and foremost, we are undertaking all efforts to support and protect our teams and their families as best as we can under the horrible circumstances. Our thoughts and hearts go out to all the affected people, especially to our 57 Ukrainian employees and their families.

Through cascading, we have so far been able to be in daily contact with each of them – presently they are all safe. Besides daily calls and financial support, for all employees staying in Ukraine, we are also providing psychological support. All border-crossing employees have been individually well taken care of thanks to the joint efforts made by colleagues in the Eastern Europe countries. Our local teams are personally welcoming them as they cross the border. Beiersdorf is providing them and their families with accommodation, access to private medical care, psychological support, financial assistance and legal advice.

We are deeply touched by the sympathy and solidarity shown by Beiersdorf employees around the world, especially in Europe. The willingness to help is overwhelming. This is Beiersdorf as it has always been: we demonstrate our togetherness as a “We”-Company especially in times of crisis. The €2 million immediate aid donation to our partners German Red Cross and CARE Deutschland e.V. was done in the name of the entire company and its people.

We also do not forget our colleagues in Russia. Beiersdorf Group employs 320 people there. The war was and is not the choice of Russian people. We understand the sadness, frustration, and anxiety that many of our Russian employees are suffering. Accordingly, we offer them various types of support.

We encourage and empower our teams to engage in volunteering, and it is already happening in a highly efficient manner in the countries bordering Ukraine. It is the collaboration between professional aid workers and our volunteers that made sure each border crossing by our employees (and sometimes their families) so far has been timely and properly taken care of.

Once again, our thoughts are with the people in the region and with all our employees and their families.

WE CARE FOR SOLIDARITY.
