Sonae Arauco's Innovus MFC decorative product range has won the Green Product Award 2022, in the Interior & Lifestyle category. This is one of the most recognized international competitions in sustainable design that distinguishes innovative products and services that have already been established in the market.


Innovus MFC is a melamine faced chipboard for decorative purposes, like furniture and interior design projects, such as living rooms, offices or public spaces.


The product stands out for its antibacterial properties and scratching and staining resistance. Additional performance features can be added, such as improved reaction to fire (FR) or extra moisture resistance (MR).

With the incorporation of recycled wood as raw material and its high-tech surface, Innovus MFC combines aesthetic credentials, technical performance and environmental sustainability. The harmonious combination of a trend-oriented decor look with a strong tactile experience is the basis for a timeless choice for every design.

Valuing wood as a natural, reusable and recyclable raw material

Sonae Arauco’s activity pillars are based on a circular economy model. All the wood used in the products comes from sustainable, certified or controlled sources and is continuously incorporated into the industrial process and has a remarkable capacity to store CO2. In 2021, with the products placed on the market, the company was responsible for retaining around 3.5 million tonnes of CO2. Recently, Sonae Arauco has subscribed its first funding linked to its sustainability performance and committed to increasing the volume of recycled wood incorporated in its products by 19% by 2026 and also establishes as a target a significant reduction in work accidents with sick leave.
