Emballator Tectubes invests, together with their owner Herenco, over 80 MSEK in a new production line. The investment is a part of the strategy towards becoming the largest player in the Nordic region and Northern Europe in sustainable plastic tubes made from recycled materials. The investment in a new extrusion line means that Emballator Tectubes invests for the future. Partly by being able to offer its customers more tubes in recycled material, partly by securing continued production in Sweden. “It is incredibly fun that we are doing this, and it shows our long-term perspective with continued production in Hjo and Sweden. This provides fantastic opportunities to increase our growth and expansion”, says Tobias Lidevei, CEO of Emballator Tectubes. The new line gives Emballator new possibilities to manufacture plastic tubes in sustainable biobased materials and PCR (Post Consumer Recyled) plastic. The products are mainly for cosmetics and food, but Emballator also sees potential to grow in other segments. ”This shows our desire to become number one in sustainability. The new line will also enable us to offer printed tubes of the highest quality and grow in several market segments. We are on a major journey of change towards growth and expansion towards the future, we are switching to sustainable solutions and want to expand in Northern Europe”, says Tobias. The investment of over 80 MSEK is made together with the Emballator owner Herenco and in the beginning of March the Herenco owner Lovisa Hamrin and the board visited Emballator Tectubes to make the final decision. “We have made a great job in all Emballator Tectubes units and this investment gives us the possibility to be leading in the Nordics in sustainable tubes. We secure our future in Hjo and our company as an important part of the society and employer, but also packaging solutions for future generations”, says Lovisa Hamrin, owner and chairman Herenco. The new production line is expected to be in place in the coming year.
