Pagani Utopia supercar equipped with specially created tires developed from Pirelli P Zero Corsa tire; tire designed using virtual technology that allowed Pirelli to create digital tire model that could be accurately calibrated, tested

MILAN, Italy , September 15, 2022 (press release) –

The entire Pagani range, including the manufacturer’s newest hypercar, uses specially-developed Pirelli tyres

Horacio Pagani’s most recent creation, the Utopia, is exclusively equipped with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. The new hypercar was revealed at the Leonardo da Vinci Science and Technology Museum in Milan, complete with bespoke tyres developed by Pirelli to deliver not only ultimate performance in all driving conditions but also on-board comfort, while enhancing the car’s exciting dynamics and the unique feeling enjoyed by the driver.

Pirelli chose the P Zero Corsa to meet these objectives, which makes full use of all the lessons learned in motorsport. The technology within the compounds and tread pattern allows the tyre to cope with extremely high power and torque outputs in all temperatures and on every road surface. Using this tyre as a base, Pirelli then evolved the P Zero Corsa’s versatility to ensure the comfort that is an integral part of the Utopia project, as imagined by Horacio Pagani – with the car’s silhouette stamped on the sidewall to denote the bespoke development. The driving dynamics are enhanced by the tyres in two different sizes for front and rear: 265/35ZR21 at the front and 325/30ZR22 at the back. A tailor-made P Zero Winter tyre is also available for colder conditions.

The tyre development for the Pagani Utopia was led using virtual technology: an approach pioneered in motorsport and subsequently transferred to road car products. The latest techniques allow Pirelli to create a digital tyre model, which can be accurately calibrated and tested before a physical prototype is even built. This methodology is faster, more sustainable, and more efficient than the traditional process, allowing Pirelli to precisely define a tyre according to a manufacturer’s exact specifications and then test it virtually, saving both time and primary materials.

Pirelli’s collaboration with Pagani, which has endured for more than a decade, has been characterised by a mission to unite state-of-the-art technology with cutting-edge style. The highlights of the story so far have been P Zero tyres for the Zonda, P Zero Trofeo R for the Huayra Roadster BC, and now the latest P Zero Corsa for the Utopia. With the next chapter still being written…
