The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) released the following statement on the election of Donald Trump as next President of the United States. The statement can be attributed to Douglas Troutman, ACI General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Government Affairs.

“The American Cleaning Institute congratulates President-elect Trump on his election victory. We look forward working with him, Vice President-Elect Vance and their Administration on supporting a healthy business environment for our member companies in the years to come.

“There is much work to do. From tax policy to chemical management regulations, ACI stands ready to work together to put U.S. innovation at the forefront among our international peers, just as we did during the first Trump Administration.

“ACI’s mission to advance the health and quality of life of people and to protect our planet will guide the association’s priorities over the next four years, including critical priorities for collaboration with the Trump Administration and the 119th Congress, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring greater speed-to-market of sustainable cleaning product chemistries within the Environmental Protection Agency to help strengthen the availability of innovative products to consumers and customers.
  • Delivering a pro-business tax policy that maintains critical tax incentives and expands competitiveness for U.S.-based businesses worldwide.
  • Enacting a regulatory environment that relies on sound science and fosters continued investment and resources to achieve a thriving manufacturing sector.

“The cleaning product supply chain accounts for approximately $60 billion in domestic economic output and supports more than 66,000 jobs nationwide. ACI is ready to partner to ensure all Americans have access to innovative cleaning products for their families and businesses.”

The American Cleaning Institute® (ACI – https://www.cleaninginstitute.org) is the Home of the U.S. Cleaning Products Industry® and represents the $60 billion U.S. cleaning product supply chain. ACI members include the manufacturers and formulators of soaps, detergents, and general cleaning products used in household, commercial, industrial and institutional settings; companies that supply ingredients and finished packaging for these products; and chemical distributors. ACI serves the growth and innovation of the U.S. cleaning products industry by advancing the health and quality of life of people and protecting our planet. ACI achieves this through a continuous commitment to sound science and being a credible voice for the cleaning products industry.
