The SementES Capixabas Project is free and registration is open and exclusive to residents of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Presidente Kennedy, Aracruz, Fundão and Ibiraçu until August 15th The recent partnership between Suzano, the world's largest producer of cellulose and a global reference in the manufacture of bioproducts developed from eucalyptus, and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae/ES) gave life to the SementES Capixabas Project, an initiative that aims to train and generate business opportunities for people in situations of social vulnerability, promoting inclusion and socioeconomic development in a sustainable manner. The project has open positions exclusively for residents of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Presidente Kennedy, Aracruz, Fundão and Ibiraçu in Espírito Santo. In addition to living in one of the five municipalities, candidates must be over 18 years of age, be a user of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) or another Sebrae partner project and have a per capita family income of up to R$637.00. Interested parties must register using an online form (access here) , by calling 0800-570-0800 or directly at the Regional Development Agencies of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim and Aracruz, by August 15. How the program works SementES Capixabas has planned tracks, that is, divisions by specific business (crafts, cooking, manicure, cleaning services, etc.). Each track will have stages during the training process. The initial phase will take place in September, on an exact date to be announced, and may be in person or online (depending on the beneficiaries' ability to access the internet). The in-person methods will be applied at Sebrae itself, at CRAS units or even in areas of a specific partner. On average, two training sessions are planned per month, including lectures, workshops, mentoring and personalized support to strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of participants and improve the management and competitiveness of their businesses. In addition to receiving free training, generating visibility for their own business, acquiring knowledge to enter the job market and change their lives, participants will receive certificates of completion for each stage completed and may also receive merit awards for each advancement within the project. For the superintendent of Sebrae/ES, Pedro Rigo, the project is an important initiative to transform the reality of the territories. “We hope to directly reach more than 450 participants, promoting a cycle of sustainable growth that will not only increase individual income, but will also strengthen the local economy.” With a commitment to lift 200,000 people out of poverty by 2030, Suzano sees SementES Capixabas as another means to achieve this goal. “SementES is a project that was born from our partnership with Sebrae and is entirely focused on supporting people in socially vulnerable situations. This initiative is important because it effectively collaborates with priority regions for Suzano and will certainly contribute to improving the lives of the people of Espírito Santo in a concrete way. We invite everyone to sign up as soon as possible,” says André Becher, Suzano’s Social Development Manager .
