Prices of curbside aluminum, plastic jump sharply in March; PET container prices are up 24%, aluminum cans up 25%, PP up 30%, color HDPE up 32%, natural HDPE down 13%, film grades A, B, C remain unchanged: report

Prices for most curbside recyclables jumped in March, Recycling Markets reported on Mar. 15. 

For plastics, PET container prices increased 24% from February to an average of $0.33/lb. Color HDPE prices increased 32% to an average of $0.26/lb., though natural HDPE prices fell 13% to $0.47/lb. 

Polypropylene waste prices increased 30% to $0.29/lb. Grade A, B and C film prices remained relatively unchanged. 

Prices for aluminum cans that are baled and sorted increased 25% to $1.24/lb.
