Outnature, a subsidiary of the German-based environmental services and waste management company PreZero, has partnered with Pfleiderer Spezialpapiere to manufacture silphie paper grades at Pfleiderer’s Teisnach mill, Euwid reported on Jan. 13. 

According to OutNature, Pfleiderer will begin producing its silphie paper in January 2022 in basis weights of 35 g/m² to 120 g/m². The paper’s fiber is sourced from Silphium perfoliatum, or cup plant, and current production methods can blend silphie fibers with primary or recovered fibers.
