The 4evergreen Alliance is a cross-industry group (which includes 21 members of ECMA) focussed on fostering synergies among companies promoting low-carbon and circular fibre-based packaging – the Alliance aims to get the recycling rate for fibre packaging to 90% by 2030.
Accordingly, the Alliance has released the first public version of its Circularity by Design Guideline for fibre-based packaging - the document has received endorsement from key industry stakeholders including packaging design associations.
The guideline is the result of extensive research and discussions to reach consensus across the entire fibre-based packaging value chain… and provide packaging designers with clear recommendations for making fibre-based packaging designed for recycling from the very beginning. It identifies precise guidance for the design of fibre-based packaging according to the compatibility of different materials with the recycling process using the standard recycling process.
