SOKOL, Russia , February 8, 2022 (press release) –

In 2022, the Sokolsky Pulp and Paper Mill of Segezha Group (MOEX: SGZH, part of AFK Sistema) is embarking on a large-scale modernization – the construction of a new paper machine (BDM) and new treatment facilities. Investments in the project – about 11 billion rubles. After the launch of the new BDM (approximately in 2023), the production capacity will increase fourfold – from 20 to 80 thousand tons per year. Due to the expansion of production, the plant will need an additional staff of more than 100 people. SCBC plans to replenish its ranks with graduates of its basic "forge of personnel" - Sokolsky Forestry College (SLPT), with which it has been cooperating productively for a long time.

In January, the heads of production departments held a series of lectures for senior students of the SLPT. In particular, the leading process engineer Elena Beloglazova spoke about the technological process of paper production and its types on BDM-10. Ruslan Ilyin, a mechanic of paper production, gave a lecture on "The scheme of a paper machine, types of breakdowns and methods of their elimination". Practical classes were also held.

"The plant is entering a new technological level of automation. The new BDM, for which we are building a separate workshop, has a high level of complexity and requires high qualifications in process management. This will be the country's first machine for the production of unbleached greaseproof paper for the food industry and special packaging. Production is growing, and with it our interest in attracting young promising specialists to the team. We prepare personnel for ourselves in advance on the basis of the Sokolsky Forestry College," says Grigory Ivanov, General Director of Sokolsky Pulp and Paper Mill JSC.

Students show serious interest in working at the enterprise of the largest timber holding in Russia. This is a good opportunity for personal and career growth.
