The Portuguese Papeleira Coreboard, S.A. produces a 100% recycled Coreboards, FSC & Food contact certified. These papers and coreboards, from 200g/m² to 600g/m² with calipers 0,012″ to 0,037″ and bulk from 1,28 cc/g to 1,55 cc/g are used for manufacturing cores & cones, tissue cores, edge protectors, composite cans, food service boards, etc. According to historical records, recycled paper has been manufactured at the current Papeleira site since 1930 at a production rate of around 7 tons per day at that time. Since 2015 the company has placed constant investments in its production process, the company has carried out a strong investment plan for a complete change of machine and facilities. In 2017 Bellmer supplied a new fourdrinier, new TurboFormer, new felted lumpbreaker assembly, new approach flow system, new vacuum system among to some other services. In August 2022 and in order to be better prepared for the future, the drying section was adapted to boots the drying capacity and increase the production rate. 23 cast iron cylinders were replaced by Bellmer cylinders to operate at a much higher steam pressure 10 bar g. BIAS (Bellmer Ibérica Air System) rebuilt the Steam and Condensate system, to operate with 3 steam groups with 2 cascades. Now Papeleira is able to produce closer to 10 tons per hour. The erection works, including dismantling the old equipment and the erection of the new dryer sections, mechanical drives and hood, as well as the commissioning works were done on schedule within a shutdown period of only nine days thanks to the excellent cooperation between the teams of Papeleira and Bellmer Ibérica. The new Bellmer´s dryers replaced the old cast iron ones, and because of their much higher heat transfer efficiency, the new production increases more than 15%, as expected and guaranteed.
