Correia Pinto, 2 de Maio de 20 23 --  Largest producer and exporter of paper for packaging and sustainable solutions in paper packaging in Brazil, Klabin promotes between May 8 and 17 the General Maintenance Shutdown at the Correia Pinto Unit, in Santa Catherine. The action is part of the factory's operation planning and aims to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment, guaranteeing operational reliability and safety, both for employees and for the community.

General maintenance shutdowns take place to comply with Regulatory Standards (NRs) for the sector, every 15 months. During the period, the factory's operations are interrupted to carry out preventive maintenance of the equipment, as well as possible improvements in the industrial structure, such as technological updates and other initiatives that guarantee the factory's productivity. It is worth mentioning that Klabin plans the work stages in accordance with the best project management practices, with a focus on safety, integration and quality of the production processes at the manufacturing units.

The Company will have the support of specific technical partners for the activities, prioritizing the hiring of temporary labor in the city and nearby regions. In this way, there is a relevant movement in the promotion of the local economy, both through the increase in income generation for professionals, and through the greater circulation of people in the municipality, positively impacting related fronts such as transportation, accommodation and food. There will be around 1,300 temporary employees who will carry out the planned actions within the foreseen schedule.

Klabin reiterates its commitment to the safety of its employees and the community during the period. In this sense, the Company continues to apply the protocols to combat the spread of COVID-19, such as the requirement of proof of vaccination, cleaning of environments and the use of protective masks. The company also maintains strict control over contracted companies, in order to ensure that best practices are followed.
