Asia Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd. (APP) has expanded its warehousing and distribution hub at Port of Antwerp in Belgium so that it can stock more of its graphic and specialty papers, reported Packaging News on July 15.
The 10,000-square-foot expansion will allow APP to reduce its order lead times in northern Europe, to 7-10 days for orders in the range of 5-25 tonnes. This sharply reduces lead times compared to sourcing from Indonesia, said a company spokesperson.
APP has three other distribution centers in Europe. These include one in Italy with 10,000 sq. ft., one in Spain with 3,000 sq. ft., and one in Latvia with 3,000 sq. ft., Packaging News reported.
At these hubs, APP offers graphic and specialty paper grades that include Enova, Nevia Plus, and Impression 2000, plus packaging board grades that include Savvicoat and Ningbo Star SBB/SBS, Sinarpack and Proxima GC2, and Sinarvanda and Zenith ranges of GC1.
Among APP’s goals is to offer better customer support and shorter lead times that enable customers to reduce their stockholding requirements and free up cash, said Danilo Benvenuti, APP regional sales manager.
