Clondalkin Group's Chadwicks of Bury Ltd. will design pre-cut plastic lids for yogurt products by U.K.-based dairy company Stapleton as the food producer switches all its aluminum lids to plastics,
Packaging Business Review reported on June 26.
Chadwicks will create 17 lid designs for the food producer’s four product lines. The company also advised Stapleton on lid design and color, and provided test trials for polyester (PE) lids.
Stapleton decided to make the change after a customer requested PE lids. The company liked the result and went ahead with a complete transition, according to marketing communications manager Beth Duncan.
Chadwicks has 50 cutting presses and 300 tool sizes that permit it to produce more than 300 lid shapes and sizes.
