BEIJING , June 26, 2014 () – British American Tobacco Co Ltd has submitted a patent application for method and apparatus for impregnating tobacco industry products with sensate constituents of botanicals. Barber Louis, Mclellan Andy, Hepworth Richard, Cassell Mark, Whiffen Robert and Brookbank Aaron developed the invention.

The patent application number is CN2012813378 20120306. The patent publication number is CN103491810 (A). International Patent Classification codes are A24B15/30 and A24B3/12. Cooperative Patent Classification codes are A24B15/186, A24B3/12 and A24D3/048.

State Intellectual Property Office of China has released the abstract. According to the abstract, "A method and apparatus for impregnating tobacco industry products with sensate constituents of botanicals by storing the tobacco industry products and the botanicals separately and applying heat and/or pressure to the apparatus to obtain a modified taste and aroma profile, are disclosed."
