The world’s largest democracy, with a population of 1.2 billion, India’s elections are a significant event that has to be carried out with precision and accuracy. Seven states (Assam, Haryana, Jharkand, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh) now offer plastic voter ID cards with the assistance of the Meteor DP8700 XL with great success.

Due to the Meteor’s high capacity and variable data printing, it was the perfect solution to the need. Variable data is a must-have when printing personalized voter ID cards that have a photograph of the voter in addition to the voter’s information. Not only were the printers able to print plastics, cards, and envelopes, but they were able to offer the voter ID cards at a significantly lower cost than cards produced in the other states.

In addition, the Meteor DP8700 XL can produce long formats up to 13” x 40” inches, the ideal solution for quad-fold brochures, book covers, banners and more. There is no minimum print quantity, so any job can be printed on-demand, allowing for maximum flexibility of use.
