British American Tobacco files Indian patent application for improvements in embossing techniques; patent filed on Oct. 17, 2012

NEW DELHI , June 20, 2014 () – UK based British American Tobacco (Investments) Ltd filed patent application for improvements in embossing techniques. The inventors are Nappi Leonardo and Kaljura Karl.

British American Tobacco (Investments) Ltd filed the patent application on Oct. 17, 2012. The patent application number is 8883/CHENP/2012 A. The international classification number is B31F1/07.

According to the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, "An embossing apparatus for applying an embossing pattern to a wrapper for a smoking article the embossing apparatus configured so as to act to at least partially minimise the reduction in at least one direction in the tensile strength of the wrapper resulting from the application of said embossing pattern."
