McDonald's is America's least favorite fast food restaurant, according to a report by the American Customer Service Index.
The survey asked 4,500 people how satisfied they were with their experiences at the various restaurants. The average customer satisfaction score was 80, but McDonald's scored a 71, trailing behind Taco Bell and KFC.
In addition to a surge in competition from fast food restaurants like Chipotle, customers are also choosing to go to full-service restaurants like Outback Steakhouse and Applebee's.
"In a weaker economy, consumers respond to price, but as the economy improves, quality becomes more important to restaurant customers," ACSI Chairman Claes Fornell said in a statement.
As McDonald's attempts to recover from a recent revenue drop, it has been facing mounting worker protests over wages. Recent efforts to rebrand the company have not been very successful.
