Price of coal in US Northern Appalachia region fell 35 cents to US$65.15/short ton in week ended June 13 versus previous week; prices in four other coal commodity regions unchanged: SNL Energy

LOS ANGELES , June 17, 2014 () – Coal prices in five U.S. coal commodity regions in the week ended June 13 were as follows versus the week ended June 6, according to figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration supplied by SNL Energy and reported June 16.

Average weekly coal commodity spot prices, in dollars per short ton:

Central Appalachia (CAPP) 12,500 Btu, 1.2 SO2: US$60.70, unchanged from week ended June 6
Northern Appalachia (NAPP) 13,000 Btu, <3.0 SO2: US$65.15, down 35 cents from week ended June 6
Illinois Basin 11,800 Btu, 5.0 SO2: US$46.00, unchanged from week ended June 6
Powder River Basin (PRB) 8,800 Btu 0.8 SO2: US$13.00, unchanged from week ended June 6
Uinta Basin 11,700 SO2: US$36.75, unchanged from week ended June 6
