COLCHESTER, England , June 16, 2014 (press release) – he next generation meal solution for care market from Anglia Crown

Anglia Crown's Crown Advantage is a new range of over 35, individual, prepared frozen meals. It is the first and only prepared meal for the UK healthcare sector, which has Smartpack, a unique removable base technology. Trialled in NHS hospitals, the meal solution was found to help increase patient satisfaction by 10% by addressing poor meal presentation which had been highlighted as an obstacle to patient or resident dining.

The exclusive technology within the Advantage packaging, enables each meal to be released directly through the base, onto a plate or bowl. No more turning upside down to release the meal or eating out of the plastic container. As each Crown Advantage meal is transferred directly through the base, it is presented exactly as it was originally designed, each and every time. The Smartpack base is completely removable in a few simple steps. The focus of Advantage is to combine a new packaging concept with producing good quality food, a balanced menu choice and helping recovery through healthy meals. The new frozen range has 39 main dish choices and enables caterers to provide a nutritionally balanced menu, whilst its exact portion size and control, helps to reduce wastage. The range comes in two sizes, standard and smaller appetite, resulting in patients and residents receiving a meal that is suitable for their individual needs. With catering budgets continuing to be squeezed, not all caterers are able to access the funding to operate a commercial kitchen on site, the Crown Advantage prepared meal concept is aimed at hospitals and care homes that have limited resources by providing unique packaging technology that helps to minimise dehydration, shrinkage and discoloration during the regeneration process.
