LOS ANGELES , June 10, 2014 () – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the compliance deadline for the 2013 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for a second time, pushing the date back to Sept. 30 in a new rule signed by EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy on June 6, Biomass Magazine reported on June 9.

The statutory deadline was originally scheduled for Feb. 14 and was first delayed in August 2013, when it was extended to June 30.

The EPA also pushed back the deadline for the submission of attest engagement reports for the 2013 RFS to Jan. 30, 2015.

In the new rule, the EPA also indicated its intent to finalize the 2014 RFS. The agency first released its proposed 2014 RFS in November 2013.
