Hearst Magazines announced today that Meredith Rollins has been appointed editor in chief of Redbook, replacing Jill Herzig, who was recently named editor in chief of Dr. Oz THE GOOD LIFE. The announcement was made by Steven R. Swartz, president and CEO of Hearst Corporation, and David Carey, president of Hearst Magazines.
Rollins had been executive editor of Redbook since 2010, where she worked closely with Herzig on the magazine’s redesign toward fun, affordable fashion, beauty and style. Prior to Redbook, she was executive editor at Lucky, and previously served as articles director of W.
“Meredith brings continuity and experience, making her the perfect choice for this role. I’m excited by her ideas for this brand,” Carey said. “She truly embodies the Redbook lifestyle and knows what will resonate with its audience.”
“Redbook is the only magazine that's a truly all-access pass to great style,” Rollins said. “I have loved being part of the Redbook team and helping the brand evolve to where it is today. I look forward to taking on this new role and continuing to inspire, inform and cheer our readers on.”
Rollins began her career in women’s magazines at Harper’s BAZAAR. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and two young sons.
