Dow Chemical launches new Pack Studios Shanghai in April, intends to bring new packaging applications to customers in Asia Pacific; Dow's packaging business in China has expanded by one-and-a-half to two times the gross domestic product growth rate

DETROIT , June 4, 2014 (Plastics News (CBNB Abstracts)) – Dow Chemical Co's new Pack Studios Shanghai was launched on 23 Apr 2014. The facility is intended to bring new packaging applications to its customers in Asia Pacific. The company also announced that around 60% of the output from Sadara, its joint venture with Saudi Aramco, would be shipped to Asia Pacific. The plant is expected to be operational in mid-2015. Butane grades of linear low density polyethylene, high density PE and more LDPE would comprise its product lines. The company's packaging business in China has expanded by 1.5 times to twice the GDP growth rate.
