Tissue products producer von Drehle purchases Metso equipment, including new paper machine for paper mill in Natchez, Mississippi, to be fully operational in Q4 2015, and new Yankee for paper mill in Cordova, North Carolina, to be operating in Q4 2014

, June 3, 2014 () – The von Drehle Corporation, an ESOP company headquartered in Hickory, North Carolina, is excited to announce major paper mill improvements in Natchez, Mississippi, and Cordova, North Carolina. 

In order to better serve our customers and provide the cost structure necessary for long term competitive prices, the von Drehle Corporation has purchased a new Metso paper machine for its Natchez, Mississippi, paper mill and a new yankee for its Cordova, North Carolina, paper mill.

Planned to be fully operational the 4th quarter of 2015 in Natchez, Mississippi, this Metso paper machine has the ability and flexibility to manufacture in both conventional and NTT paper making technology. NTT technology provides von Drehle with premium away-from-home products using recycled or virgin fibers. These premium products will complement von Drehle’s current brand offering and provide sales potential into new market channels for our customers.

In the 4th quarter of this year, von Drehle’s Cordova, North Carolina, paper will be operating a new ribbed design yankee that will improve throughput and ultimately provide incremental capacity.

These investments are an excellent demonstration of von Drehle’s commitment to supplying quality products at competitive prices for the long term.
